  installation with MatLab routines
Posted by: Bruce Bevan - 12-15-2023, 08:36 PM - Forum: Comments - No Replies

GaMField is a computer program that calculates the total magnetic field of clusters of cubic magnetic bodies. BodiesGenerator is an auxilliary program that simplifies the creation of very complex magnetic models from larger clusters of cubic bodies. That is, BodiesGenerator is a separate and associated program that creates model files that are then entered into the GaMField program.

Installation:
Install the GaMField program first, by running GaMFieldSetup.exe. Be connected to the internet during this installation and additional files will automatically be downloaded from MatLab's web site. These files from MatLab are collections of "subroutines" that are needed by the GaMField program; the total size of these files to be downloaded for GaMField from the MatLab site is about 2.92 GB. These files will be stored in your folder:
C: / Program Files / MATLAB / MATLAB Runtime / 912 /

Install the BodiesGenerator next, or at a later time. Be on the internet while you install this program also, so that you can download (automatically) the accessory files from MatLab (total size of about 4.18 GB). These MatLab files will be located on your computer at:
C: / Program Files / MATLAB / MATLAB Runtime / 98 /

Posted by: alessandro.pignatelli - 03-27-2018, 02:45 PM - Forum: Announcements and News - No Replies

After long time, we finished GaMField updates implementation so the 2.0 version is now available.
You can download the complete software (including installation files) at http://geosoftware.sci.ingv.it/downloads...d=10&cat=1 or (if you have already installed it and simply would like to get the last updates) at http://geosoftware.sci.ingv.it/downloads...d=13&cat=1.
Again, we encourage all the users to provide us with comments or suggestions to further improve the program.

  New runtime required for GaMField
Posted by: alessandro.pignatelli - 04-03-2012, 02:56 PM - Forum: Announcements and News - No Replies

Dear registered users,
we apologize but the license for the old version of GaMField has expired. In order to better maintain the software, it is necessary to upgrade the Matlab runtime to a newer version.
The new installers for 32 bit and 64 bit are available as usual at http://geosoftware.ingv.selfip.net (Download area). The installation file is unique and we suggest you to put the file in a folder whose path *does not* contain any blank space (for example avoid desktop folder path, which is “Documents and settings…”). Then you have to simply click on GaMField Installer and follow the instructions. The installer will create all the needed files. At the end of installation click on GaMField.exe file and the program will start. If you have any problem and/or question please do not hesitate to post on the forum or send me (Alessandro Pignatelli) a private message.
Best regards,
Alessandro
